Comment from the Palace on 'Syria': 'The only leader Assad can trust is President Erdoğan'

Ayhan Ogan, advisor to AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, commented on the developments in Syria, stating, "Everything is returning to its essence. The era of unnatural expansionism based on sectarianism in the region has closed. The only leader Mr. Assad can trust is President Erdoğan. The path to stability and a way out for Syria is through cooperation with Turkey."

Syria's Aleppo and Idlib provinces are seeing continued clashes between the Damascus administration and the armed group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS).

Following four days of intense fighting, anti-regime armed groups clashing with the forces of the Bashar al-Assad regime in Syria have reached the central parts of Aleppo city center.

The Russian military reported that it has launched an operation against the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) armed group advancing in Aleppo, in northwestern Syria, and that it has conducted airstrikes on targets.

The first comment from the Palace regarding the latest developments in Syria has arrived.

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's advisor Ayhan Ogan stated that everything in Syria is returning to its essence, using the words, "The only leader Mr. Assad can trust is President Erdoğan. The path to stability and a way out for Syria is through cooperation with Turkey."

"Regarding what is happening in Syria;

Everything is returning to its essence.

The era of unnatural expansionism based on sectarianism in the region has closed.

There is no chance for unnatural, ethnically-based engineering projects in the region to survive, no matter who is behind them.

There is no longer any chance for anyone to take a step in the region despite Turkey.

The only leader Mr. Assad can trust is President Erdoğan.

The path to stability and a way out for Syria is through cooperation with Turkey.

Syria is not the country of one person, one group, or intervening countries; it is the country of the Syrians."
