Whether the "National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy Commission," established in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) with the goal of a "Terror-Free Turkey," traveled to İmralı today (November 24) became a subject of debate.

The Türkiye newspaper, known for its proximity to the government, had announced that the 'İmralı Delegation,' consisting of AKP Deputy Chairman Hüseyin Yayman, MHP Deputy Chairman Feti Yıldız, and DEM Party Group Deputy Chairman Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit, would depart for the island to meet with Abdullah Öcalan, the leader of the terrorist organization PKK.

The TBMM announced that the commission had traveled to the island. The Office of the Speaker of the TBMM stated, "Questions were asked and answers were received."

The statement from the TBMM said, "On November 24, 2025, the delegation traveled to the İmralı High-Security Penal Execution Institution. As a result of the meeting, positive outcomes were achieved regarding social integration, the strengthening of brotherhood, and the positive advancement of the process in terms of a regional perspective."
