Communications Director Duran, in a statement on his social media account, said, "The escalation of tensions between the US and Israel and Iran into hot conflict in recent times, and its impact on other countries in the region, is an unacceptable situation. It is a source of serious concern for our region and global peace. The developments taking place threaten not only the countries involved but also stability and the safety of civilians across a wide geography. In this context, dialogue and negotiation mechanisms must be urgently reactivated.
Under the leadership of our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Turkey has always stood, as a matter of principle, for lasting peace, regional stability, and the search for solutions based on international law. Turkey will continue to fulfill its responsibility to de-escalate tensions, protect civilians, and ensure that diplomatic channels are operated effectively. Our state, with all its institutions, is closely monitoring developments in the region and taking the necessary measures for the safety of our citizens. As the Directorate of Communications, we continue our fight against intended provocations and disinformation being spread during this process.
We have full faith that our media will handle the process objectively and with a Turkey-centered approach, as it always has. We emphasize that it is important for our citizens to be more sensitive to provocations and disinformation, especially in the digital media sphere during this process; to disregard unverified information and to rely on statements from our official institutions," he said.
