In a statement on his social media account, Duran noted that CHP Chairman Özgür Özel had once again used insulting language directed at President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Communications Director Duran stated the following:

"Özel, who has made a habit of using the language of insult in politics, will not be able to cover up the problems his party has fallen into with this approach. Our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, is a leader whose democratic legitimacy is indisputable, having won all the elections he has entered to date with the free will of our nation and having received a vote of confidence from the ballot box many times over. This base language directed at a leader who has become a symbol of courage in Turkish politics, who stood against tanks on July 15, and who has fought against internal and external tutelage, is the lowest point of political desperation.

Politics is not conducted by using new insulting expressions every day, but by offering new visions, projects, and service proposals. I remind you once again that the Turkish nation and CHP voters do not deserve this anti-national will, polarizing, and divisive style."
