One of Germany's well-known tour operators, We-Flytour GmbH, has declared bankruptcy. The company, which organizes trips to Turkey, announced on Saturday that it would be filing for insolvency. Following this development, all scheduled flights have been canceled.
Currently, approximately 1,500 passengers who are on holidays organized by We-Flytour, mostly in Turkey and Egypt, are affected. The German Travel Security Fund (DRSF) stated that they will take the necessary steps to ensure passengers can return home safely or continue their vacations.
The DRSF also emphasized that all payments for reservations made for future months will be refunded and that affected passengers will be contacted. According to a report in Yeniçağ, one of the reasons behind We-Flytour's bankruptcy is a change in its credit card provider. With the previous provider withdrawing from the market, the company experienced a liquidity problem when the installation of a new system could not be completed within two months.
