Competition Authority imposes fine on famous company

The Competition Authority has imposed an administrative fine of 282.4 million liras on Coca-Cola İçecek. The fine was justified by the suspicion that an employee had deleted personal correspondence during an inspection conducted at the company's facility.
REASON FOR THE FINE HAS BEEN REVEALED
In a statement published on the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) yesterday evening, Coca-Cola İçecek stated that the Competition Authority raised suspicions regarding the deletion of an employee's personal correspondence during an on-site inspection conducted on 07.10.2025. The company announced that it was fined 282,416,376.34 TL for obstructing and complicating the inspection.
The statement included the following: "In accordance with the decision notified to us by the Competition Authority, this fine was imposed on our company pursuant to subparagraph (d) of the first paragraph of Article 16 of Law No. 4054."
Coca-Cola İçecek announced that payment will be made upon notification of the reasoned decision for the fine and that it has the right to apply for a 25 percent early payment discount. The company also stated that it would appeal the fine, adding, "Legal processes will be initiated against the decision to defend our company's rights."
