Concerning statement regarding Ergün Poyraz's health condition
Mustafa Hüseyin Buzoğlu, the lawyer for author Ergün Poyraz—who was arrested on October 2 for reposting a photograph of the home of Aydın Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Özlem Çerçioğlu—has announced that his client has lost consciousness and is at risk of having his foot amputated.

On October 1, author Ergün Poyraz quoted a social media post containing a photograph of Özlem Çerçioğlu's home, adding the note: “She bought this with the pockets of the people of Aydın. Haramzade (illegitimate/ill-gotten gains).”
Following this post, Poyraz was detained and, the next day, was arrested and sent to prison on charges of violating the Law on the Protection of Personal Data.
‘AMPUTATION OF HIS FOOT IS A POSSIBILITY’
Poyraz's lawyer, Mustafa Hüseyin Buzoğlu, made statements regarding his client's health condition.
Buzoğlu stated: “Ergün Poyraz, who has very serious health problems including the need to take insulin 4 times a day, was not given his medication for 2 days following his arrest, and only began receiving his medication after this issue was covered in the press. Ergün Poyraz, who has very serious health problems, was admitted to Aydın State Hospital on October 17. In a meeting between his family and the doctor overseeing his care, it was reported that the amputation of his foot is a possibility, and permission was requested from his family regarding this. Furthermore, it was stated that as of October 20, he lost consciousness following a severe drop in his blood sugar.”
‘REPORTS WERE NOT PROVIDED’
Buzoğlu stated that Poyraz's medical reports have not been provided to his family due to his detention, adding: “Clear information regarding the progression of his illnesses cannot be obtained, and as a result, because it is not possible to continue his treatment under the best conditions with full-capacity doctors who are experts in all these matters, author Ergün Poyraz is in life-threatening danger. Considering his health condition, the immediate release of Ergün Poyraz is of great importance.”
