The written statement from the Ministry expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life caused by the earthquake in China's Tibet Autonomous Region.
The statement extended condolences to the families of those who lost their lives, as well as to the government and people of China, and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
WHAT HAPPENED?
In the 6.8-magnitude earthquake that struck China's Tibet Autonomous Region, 126 people lost their lives and 188 people were injured.
In the earthquake, which occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers at 09:05 local time, more than 1,000 structures sustained varying levels of damage. Following the earthquake, the China Earthquake Administration dispatched teams to the region as part of disaster relief efforts.
