Condolences from Özgür Özel for Volkan Konak: 'He never compromised his stance in favor of this country'

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel has issued a message of condolence for the famous artist Volkan Konak, who passed away as a result of a medical crisis on stage.

In a post on his social media account, Özel expressed the following:

"Our grief is great. We are deeply saddened by the loss of our esteemed artist Volkan Konak, one of the powerful voices of our music and a lover of Atatürk and the Republic. I wish God's mercy upon Volkan Konak, whom I last met at the Atatürkist Thought Association's award ceremony and who never compromised his stance in favor of this country by saying 'Revolutionaries do not fear' until his passing; I extend my condolences to his family, his loved ones, and the music community."
