Confusing statements from cousin in Narin interview: 'It is certain that she was not in the water'

8-year-old Narin Güran went missing on August 21 in the village of Tavşantepe in Diyarbakır. After extensive searches, Narin's lifeless body was found 19 days later under the Eğertutmaz Stream.

It was stated that the primary reason Narin was placed in a sack under the water was to prevent search dogs from finding her.

Following a witness's confession, the stream was searched for a third time, and Narin's lifeless body, placed inside a sack, was discovered.

Halk TV reporter Ferit Demir interviewed Narin's cousin, Osman Güran, on August 26.

The interview, which comes to mind now that many of Narin's relatives, including her mother and father, are in custody, has created question marks.

'IT IS CERTAIN THAT SHE WAS NOT IN THE WATER'

On the fifth day of Narin's disappearance, Osman Güran said the following:

We started searching within the village. Hours passed. The villagers gathered.

Then the state arrived, thank God. All the state's teams were in the field. There is nothing, no trace. The Gendarmerie searched all the houses in the village both yesterday and the day before.

We looked inside the canal. We already have no problems with the villagers. Regarding the villagers. I mean, we don't know if it was someone who doesn't know us or someone who does. How she was kidnapped, it is certain that she was not in the water.

"WE ARE A DEEP-ROOTED FAMILY"

Our family definitely has no hostility toward anyone. We are a deep-rooted family in this Diyarbakır, I mean, since the past. Aren't the villagers relatives? I mean, when I say relatives, our grandfathers settled them here a long time ago.

They live here. We have never seen them cause any harm until now. I mean, we have already left this matter to our state.

There is no one greater than the state. Everyone knows this very well. All we can do is pray. We are waiting with patience."
