Constitutional Court rules 'violation', access ban on 'irregular appointment' news lifted
The Constitutional Court ruled that "freedom of expression was violated," and the access ban imposed in 2017 on news reports titled "The partisan judiciary of the partisan president: 30 more AKP members appointed as judges via interviews" has been lifted.

While access bans continue to be imposed on many news reports, news websites, and social media networks by the decisions of local courts, "rights violation" rulings are also coming from the Constitutional Court (AYM).
According to the announcement by the Freedom of Expression Association (İFÖD), access bans imposed on some news reports are being lifted following AYM decisions.
The latest example of this occurred regarding a 2017 news report on "irregularities in judicial appointments."
İFÖD announced the decision as follows:
"News reports regarding the statements of CHP Istanbul Deputy Barış Yarkadaş, in which he claimed that there were irregularities in judicial appointments and that AKP members were appointed as judges, were blocked from access by the Ankara 5th Criminal Judgeship of Peace's decision dated May 5, 2017, and numbered 2017/3344, on the grounds of violation of personal rights.
Following the Constitutional Court's ruling of a violation of freedom of expression, the access ban on the news reports, which had been blocked on May 5, 2017, was lifted by the decision of the Ankara 5th Criminal Judgeship of Peace dated February 28, 2024, and numbered 2024/2981."
