While Turkey was debating the Instagram ban, the Constitutional Court (AYM) had announced that it had annulled the powers of the Presidency's Directorate of Communications that could interfere with freedom of the press and expression. It was emphasized that the decision was taken within the scope of fundamental rights and freedoms that cannot be regulated by a Presidential Decree.

The issue experienced on the Constitutional Court's website during the afternoon hours was resolved around 21:40. The Constitutional Court's website is now accessible.
In a post made on the Constitutional Court's X social media account at 12:07, it was stated: "Our decision numbered 2020/88, which annuls certain rules of Presidential Decree No. 66, has been published in the Official Gazette dated 2/8/2024 and is available for access. Due to high internet traffic, our site is currently inaccessible."
