Consumer confidence index declined in June: At its lowest level of the year

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) has announced the consumer confidence index data for June 2024. The consumer confidence index, which was 80.51 in May, fell by 2.7 percent in June to 78.3.

The Turkish Statistical Institute has announced the consumer confidence index data for June.

The consumer confidence index decreased by 2.7 percent on a monthly basis in June to 78.3.

Accordingly, the seasonally adjusted consumer confidence index, calculated from the results of the consumer tendency survey conducted in cooperation with TÜİK and the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, decreased by 2.7 percent in June compared to May. The index, which was 80.51 last month, fell to 78.3 this month.The index of the household's current financial situation fell from 65.3 in May to 63.8 in June, a decrease of 2.2 percent.

The index of the household's financial situation expectation for the next 12 months was 82.8 in May, and decreased by 4.4 percent this month to 79.2.

The index of the general economic situation expectation for the next 12 months, which was 78.3 last month, was recorded as 76.1 this month, a decrease of 2.8 percent.

The index of the intention to spend on durable consumer goods in the next 12 months, which was 95.6 in May, fell by 1.6 percent in June to 94.
