The Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK) has become the focus of a new controversy following the recent fake diploma and e-signature scandal. According to a report by Deniz Ayhan from Sözcü, civil engineers Selahattin Bayramçavuş and Yakup Dost, who came from the General Directorate of Highways, have been appointed as vice presidents at BTK. These appointments have increased concerns regarding data security.
On September 26, BTK announced the 'Sowix' system, which caused the theft of personal data, but closed access to it one day later. This situation revealed vulnerabilities in data security.
HARSH CRITICISM FROM THE CHP
CHP Deputy Chairman Ulaş Karasu criticized the appointments at BTK and the data security issues, stating, "This situation, which exposed the data of millions of people, is a disaster in terms of data security. Turkey's digital infrastructure and communication future are being put at risk with meritless appointments. What experience of these individuals will BTK benefit from? Everyone is remaining silent."
It is known that Bayramçavuş and Dost previously held important positions at the General Directorate of Highways. Bayramçavuş had served as a vice president, and Dost as a regional director.
