The AKP government has shifted into higher gear in the operations being conducted against CHP municipalities.
The corruption and terrorism investigation carried out by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) has extended to Adana and Adıyaman.
Following the allegations of crime syndicate leader and confessor Aziz İhsan Aktaş, Adana Metropolitan Mayor Zeydan Karalar and Adıyaman Mayor Abdurrahman Tutdere were among those taken into custody.
Immediately following the developments in Adana and Adıyaman, proceedings were initiated against Antalya Metropolitan Mayor Muhittin Böcek. Within the framework of the "bribery" investigation conducted by the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, detention warrants were issued for Mayor Muhittin Böcek, as well as his son Mustafa Gökhan Böcek and his former daughter-in-law Zeynep Kerimoğlu.
Following these developments, former AKP Ağrı Mayor Savcı Sayan made headlines with a statement on his social media account.
