Council member arrested over 200,000 euro bribery allegation
CHP municipal council member Engin Yağcılar, who was detained and referred to the courthouse on allegations of demanding a 200,000 euro bribe from a contractor in exchange for license approval in Edirne, has been arrested by the court.

Contractor N.Ö., who applied to the Edirne Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, filed a complaint alleging that Yağcılar demanded 200,000 euros from him in exchange for license approval.
Following this, technical and physical surveillance was conducted on Yağcılar as part of the investigation initiated.
Teams monitored the meeting between the complainant N.Ö. and Engin Yağcılar on September 1 with audio and video recordings. Following the examination of the records regarding the meeting, Yağcılar was detained under the instruction of the prosecutor's office.
After completing his procedures at the police station, Engin Yağcılar was referred to the courthouse, where he was arrested by the court and sent to prison.
It was learned that the investigation is ongoing.
