Counterfeit alcohol operation in Istanbul
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that counterfeit alcohol and fake excise stamps with a market value of approximately 15 million liras were seized in operations conducted following a 6-month investigation. 9 suspects were taken into custody during the operations.

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya shared the details of the "Çengel-8" operations, which were carried out by the Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command teams under the coordination of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and the Gendarmerie General Command KOM Department.
6 SEPARATE OPERATIONS CONDUCTED
In a statement on his social media account, Yerlikaya stated that a warehouse identified as being used for the production of counterfeit and illicit alcohol was uncovered following 6 months of technical and physical surveillance. He noted that the counterfeit alcohol produced was being distributed to provinces including Istanbul, Izmir, Ankara, Antalya, and Muğla.
COUNTERFEIT ALCOHOL SEIZED
In the 6 separate operations carried out, 28 thousand 400 liters of counterfeit alcohol and 15 thousand 150 fake excise stamps with a value of approximately 15 million liras were seized. 9 suspects were taken into custody during the operations.
Minister Yerlikaya stated, "I congratulate our Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office for coordinating the operations and our heroic gendarmerie for carrying them out. The prayers of our nation are with you."
