Counterfeit gold worth 28.5 million TL seized in Istanbul
In an operation conducted in Zeytinburnu, counterfeit gold with a market value of 28.5 million Turkish Liras was seized. A large amount of equipment used in production was also confiscated, and 2 suspects were taken into custody.

Under the coordination of the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, teams from the Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command's Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch conducted an investigation into the crime of "counterfeiting values considered equivalent to money (gold)."
Following the findings, an operation was carried out in the morning hours at an address identified in Zeytinburnu.
MARKET VALUE OF 28.5 MILLION LIRAS
During the searches conducted at the address, 1,530 pieces of counterfeit gold weighing a total of 4,252 grams, packaged and ready for sale in 1, 5, and 10-gram units, were seized. It was determined that the market value of the seized counterfeit gold was approximately 28 million 500 thousand liras.
In the operation, 280 plastic molds, 13 metal molds, 1,010 counterfeit gram gold packages, a pressing machine, and a paper and pleat punching machine, all assessed to be used in counterfeit production, were also found.
2 SUSPECTS IN CUSTODY
While 2 people were taken into custody as part of the operation, it was reported that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
