Criminal complaint filed over Furkan Bölükbaşı's 'Atatürk' post

Furkan Bölükbaşı, who previously made headlines for his 'Lavuk' (slang for jerk/fool) controversy with national volleyball player Ebrar Karakurt, was recently exposed when his Google search history showed searches for sexually explicit films during his own live broadcast.

While criticism of Bölükbaşı continues on social media, some social media users mocked him by commenting "send the link."

'ATATÜRK' POST

Following the backlash, Furkan Bölükbaşı shared a photo of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk swimming at Florya beach, surrounded by citizens, with the caption "Link." After Bölükbaşı's post, the reaction to his content regarding Atatürk grew like an avalanche.

CRIMINAL COMPLAINT AGAINST BÖLÜKBAŞI

Following Furkan Bölükbaşı's post, lawyer Çağdaş Çelik filed a criminal complaint with the prosecutor's office.

Çağdaş Çelik requested that Furkan Bölükbaşı be punished for "Violation of the Law on Crimes Committed Against Atatürk," "Insulting the Memory of a Deceased Person," "Praising a Crime and a Criminal," and "Inciting the Public to Hatred and Hostility or Humiliating Them."

In his petition, Çağdaş Çelik stated that Furkan Bölükbaşı had previously made statements insulting Atatürk and said the following:

“Due to the fact that the link 'Türbanlı Simge Sakso Part 2' appeared in the search history during the YouTube broadcast of the suspect Furkan Bölükbaşı, many social media users commented under his posts asking for the link to the video he was watching. The suspect then, by making an analogy to the 'Türbanlı Simge Sakso' video he was watching, publicly insulted Atatürk, the founder of our country, by sharing a photo of Atatürk swimming in the sea with citizens under the caption 'Link'."
