Criminal complaint from the Diyarbakır Bar Association following the Kocaelispor-Amedspor match!

The Human Rights Center of the Diyarbakır Bar Association has filed a criminal complaint regarding the footage of "yellow bags" being waved during the Kocaelispor-Amedspor match.

In the statement issued by the Bar Association, it was stated that the act in question evokes images of conflict and violence in the public eye, constitutes a threat, and targets social peace.

According to the statement, it was requested that legal action be taken against those responsible for violating Law No. 6222 on the Prevention of Violence and Disorder in Sports, as well as for the crimes of "publicly degrading a segment of the public" as regulated in Article 216/2 of the Turkish Penal Code, "inciting the public to hatred and hostility" under TCK 216, and "threats" under TCK 106.

The Human Rights Center of the Diyarbakır Bar Association announced that they will follow the legal process that has been initiated.
