Critical contacts by Minister Fidan in Ankara

According to information obtained from ministry sources, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with Annalena Baerbock, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany, who is on an official visit to Turkey, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During the closed-door meeting, Minister Fidan and his German counterpart Baerbock exchanged views on global and regional issues.

Furthermore, Minister Fidan received Joyce Msuya, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator.

According to information obtained from diplomatic sources, Minister Fidan stated during the meeting that the transition period in Syria must proceed in an orderly and inclusive manner led by Syrians.

He emphasized the importance of preserving Syria's territorial integrity and unity.

He noted that it is essential to eliminate the presence of all terrorist organizations in the region and to stand against Israel's aggression.

During the meeting, it was also underlined that there is a need for reconstruction efforts for Syria and comprehensive humanitarian aid programs to be carried out simultaneously.

The massacre taking place in Gaza was also on Minister Fidan's agenda. Fidan reiterated the message that the international community must exert pressure on Israel to end the oppression.
