Critical day in the AKP: Some names may be dismissed

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will chair his party's Central Decision and Executive Board (MKYK) meeting today. Party insiders suggest that changes in some positions may occur following the meeting.

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had previously signaled 'change' following the defeat in the local elections.

In line with this, 7 provincial heads have been changed in the AKP, and 2 changes have taken place in the cabinet.

All eyes are now on today's AKP MKYK meeting, which will be chaired by Erdoğan.

SOME DEPUTY CHAIRMEN MAY BE DISMISSED

According to a report by Sabah, which is known for its proximity to the government, party insiders state that some deputy chairmen may be dismissed during the MKYK meeting.

In the last Central Executive Board (MYK) meeting, Erdoğan had stated, "We have started the change process with 2 ministers and 7 provincial heads. Without offending or alienating anyone, the change of guard will continue when necessary. There are provinces where we plan to change the guard."
