Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler, and MIT Chief İbrahim Kalın will meet with President Ahmed Shara in Syria.
During the visit, the delegation will hold talks with Shara as well as high-level Syrian officials.
The discussions are expected to address the current state of Turkey-Syria relations and the implementation of the March 10 agreement.
Furthermore, the security risks emerging in southern Syria due to Israel's aggressive stance are also expected to be on the agenda.
THE RECONSTRUCTION OF SYRIA
In addition to security issues, the main agenda items of the visit include evaluating bilateral projects for the reconstruction of Syria and discussing the support to be provided for the Syrian administration's capacity-building efforts.
While contributing to the remediation of the destruction caused by the nearly 15-year-long Syrian crisis, Turkey continues its efforts to evaluate new areas of cooperation in line with the interests of both countries in a way that will serve the stability and security of Syria.
In this context, Minister Fidan had previously made his first visit to Syria on December 22, 2024, following the overthrow of the Assad administration.
