Hamit Karslıoğlu criticized the AKP government while speaking to Nurdan Akbaş, a reporter for the Çorum Haber newspaper, during a street interview regarding the recent bread price hike in Çorum.
In response to Akbaş's question, "Bread is now 5 liras in Çorum. What are your thoughts?", Karslıoğlu replied, "Brother, it needs to be changed as soon as possible, you are right."
When Akbaş asked, "But the elections just passed?", Karslıoğlu responded, "That is the issue for those who voted, you are speaking the truth.
Çorum is truly in a difficult situation regarding this matter. A family of at least four people living on minimum wage has to buy 6 loaves of bread; I don't know how they manage to get by."
Following the interview, it was alleged that Karslıoğlu was demoted and reassigned to Doğubayazıt, Ağrı.
The Ministry of Justice has not yet made a statement regarding the matter.
