Crying of 25-day-old baby İkranur prevents disaster

A fire broke out in a workplace belonging to Adem Özkan in the Tavşantepe neighborhood of Adana's Kozan district following a lightning strike during a heavy downpour in the morning.

The fire, which started around 07:00, was noticed when the workplace owner's 25-day-old daughter, baby İkranur, began to cry. The Özkan family immediately notified the fire department. The teams that arrived at the scene extinguished the fire in a short time, preventing a disaster. While the fire caused material damage to the workplace, it was noted that the Turkish flag did not burn.

Stating that their baby prevented a major catastrophe, Adem Özkan said, "Our baby was born 25 days ago. We were preparing to open this workplace soon. I was sleeping. My wife woke me up around 07:00. She said, 'There was a noise from downstairs because lightning struck. Smoke is coming from the workplace,' so I ran over. When I opened the door, the flames came at me. Thank God no one was hurt. The products I used before were plugged into the socket but not connected to the computer. I realized this fire occurred after the lightning strike. I was making preparations for interior decoration. Thank God for today. I have a new baby. Normally we would be asleep at that hour; thanks to the baby crying at that time, we got through this with minimal damage. Our flag also sustained minor damage, but it was remarkable that it did not burn. Thank God for today. It is something that came from God."
