Hasan Şahin, who is alleged to have killed four men belonging to crime syndicate leader Barış Boyun in the Abkhazia region of Georgia, was captured yesterday morning. His arrest was the result of a joint operation by Russian and Georgian intelligence services.
According to a report by Dinçer Gökçe from Halktv.com.tr, a year after six members of Barış Boyun's organization were executed in Greece, a similar incident occurred in Georgia. Crime syndicate members Vedat Dinç, Çağatay Çançin, Furkan Ömer Tükenmez, and Abdulkadir Sever had fled to Georgia due to the crimes they were involved in. These four individuals were sharing the same house, and on the morning of December 7, 2024, gunmen entered the premises after one of the occupants left the door open. Dinç, Çançin, Tükenmez, and Sever were killed while they were sleeping, and nearly 200 empty shell casings were found at the scene.
CONNECTION TO THE SERHAT AKIN ATTACK
Hasan Şahin had come to public attention not only for this incident but also for the attack on former football player Serhat Akın. In his statement to the Beykoz Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 19-year-old gunman Ozan Dalmaz stated that he had received the order for the attack from Hasan Şahin.
Following the murder of the four individuals, Şahin had fled to Abkhazia. However, thanks to international cooperation, he was captured and brought to justice.
