Date announced: Direct flights between Trabzon and Saudi Arabia to begin

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu provided information regarding the direct flights to be operated by Turkish Airlines between Trabzon and Saudi Arabia during the summer season.

Minister Uraloğlu announced that the Saudi Arabia flights, which will begin with the Trabzon-Jeddah flight on June 4, will conclude for the summer season with the Riyadh flight scheduled for Monday, September 30, 2024.

5 FLIGHTS PER WEEK WILL BE OPERATED

Emphasizing that the flights will be repeated throughout the summer season on the same days, times, and flight numbers on a weekly basis, Minister Uraloğlu said, "There will be 5 reciprocal flights per week between Trabzon and Jeddah and Riyadh. Our planes will depart from Trabzon Airport at 09.55 on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and at 09.15 on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. These flights will make a significant contribution to both our country's tourism and economy."

'THOUSANDS OF TOURISTS WILL ARRIVE'

Reminding that Turkey and Saudi Arabia have transitioned to an electronic visa application following negotiations between the two countries, Uraloğlu stated, "With the electronic visa application, our citizens will be able to obtain a visa in less than 5 minutes or complete the visa process upon arrival at any airport in Saudi Arabia. In this way, our citizens from Trabzon will be able to travel to Jeddah and Riyadh as if they were taking an intercity trip.

Furthermore, along with the visa facilitation between Turkey and Saudi Arabia, the start of these flights will make a significant contribution to the tourism and trade of the region, especially Trabzon. With these reciprocal flights, thousands of tourists will also come to Trabzon from Riyadh and Jeddah," he said.

'UMRAH TRAVEL WILL BE CONVENIENT FOR CITIZENS'

Minister Uraloğlu emphasized that with the electronic visa, Turkish citizens will be able to visit all regions and cities in Saudi Arabia, in addition to Mecca and Medina, and used the following expressions:

"Both the electronic visa and the introduction of direct flights from Trabzon to Riyadh and Jeddah will not only improve relations between the two countries but will also be a great convenience for our citizens who will perform Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages. A great convenience will also be provided for our citizens in our regional cities, especially Trabzon."
