The Memleket Party has decided to close following its short journey in politics. It has been announced that the party will be officially dissolved at the congress to be held on July 21-22.

Asuman Ali Güven, who took over as Deputy Chairman of the party after Chairman Muharrem İnce returned to the CHP, shared the reasons for this decision with the public.

Güven issued a call for unification under the CHP roof, stating, "To grow the common struggle, we must unite under the roof of the Republican People's Party (CHP) and continue on our path."

He included the following words in his statement:

“We want to make the decision to close the Memleket Party, which we founded by setting out with big dreams and pure feelings, at the congress we will hold on July 21-22, 2025.

Since the day it was founded, the Memleket Party has been a movement that walked shoulder to shoulder with young people trying to take a different path in politics, and never compromised on morality, justice, and reason. This party, which managed to remain untainted against a corrupted system, will go down in Turkish political history as an honorable page.

Despite all the difficulties and troubles of political financing in Turkey, the Memleket Party stood tall with the contributions of its founders, members, and volunteers. While political financing in Turkey is so problematic, we carried out this work with faith and hard work.

I sincerely thank everyone who walked with us, believed in us, put in the effort, and contributed during this process. I owe a special thanks to our young people, who carried this struggle with their energy, ideas, and beliefs.

However, at the point we have reached, politics in Turkey has ceased to be a democratic competition. Now, the infrastructure is being created to change our secular and unitary state structure with a new constitution in the name of ending terrorism. The government has turned the state into a party. All state institutions have become extensions of the government. The judiciary has lost its independence, and the rule of law has been replaced by political operations. In such an environment, the time has come to move our struggle to a stronger ground to keep democracy, the rule of law, and our republic alive and to get them back on their feet.

For this reason, we must close the Memleket Party and continue on our path by uniting under the roof of the Republican People's Party to grow the common struggle for the future of our country.

I once again sincerely thank all the young people who believed in us, walked this path with us, and put their hearts into it. My call to you all is this: Come, let us all meet at the Republican People's Party after our closing congress. Let us continue the struggle to bring Turkey to the light, shoulder to shoulder, with the same faith and the same determination. This is not an end. This is a beginning. May our path be clear.”

WHEN WAS THE MEMLEKET PARTY FOUNDED?

Muharrem İnce announced that he had started the “Memleket Movement” on September 4, 2020, after leaving the CHP. This movement officially turned into a political party under the name “Memleket Party” on May 17, 2021.

İnce was a candidate in the presidential elections on May 14, 2023, and officially entered the race after collecting over 114 thousand signatures. However, he withdrew his candidacy on May 11, 2023.

Finally, he opened a new page in politics with a striking move by returning to the Republican People's Party on June 24, 2025. Following this development, steps toward the closure of the party have gained momentum.
