Davutoğlu visits IMM President İmamoğlu

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and Future Party Chairman Ahmet Davutoğlu met at the Emirgan Pavilion in Sarıyer.  Expressing his gratitude to Davutoğlu for his visit, İmamoğlu stated that the outcome of the local elections was significant and that they must evaluate it well on behalf of the nation.

Stating that he believes they must provide a strong period of service, İmamoğlu said:

"In this context, in line with the expectations of our people who interpret politics very differently, we also need to interpret politics a bit differently and address a more intensive, populist dialogue, populist sharing, and a populist service orientation. We have such a responsibility at the local level. We hope that we will be granted a period that benefits every segment and every individual of society, and that demonstrates a very strong local government success in Istanbul. We hope to be granted the success to achieve this."

"I WOULD SAY ISTANBUL"

Noting that all public services are a trust, Davutoğlu stated that it is an important duty in the eyes of the public and continued his remarks as follows: 

"If you ask me, 'What is the greatest public trust in Turkey?', I would say, 'Istanbul'. I say this not only as a politician and statesman, but as a scientist who has written articles and books on Istanbul. The greatest trust in Turkey is Istanbul.

The local elections had results that will have a major impact not only on the scale of Istanbul but also on the scale of Turkey. We will all see and listen to the results together. It is necessary to be a pioneer of a new era in Turkey where democracy is respected, urban culture is preserved, and public political participation increases. We have no doubt that you will fulfill this in the best way possible. May God not let you be embarrassed. May God grant you success. As a fellow citizen of Istanbul and a lover of Istanbul, we are always by your side whenever and however you need support."
