Davutoğlu's criticism of the MTP to Erdoğan: Who will give us back our lost years?

The Medium-Term Program (MTP) was announced today. The program also included the government's forecasts for growth, unemployment, inflation, and the dollar/TL exchange rate.

REACTION FROM DAVUTOĞLU

Future Party Chairman Ahmet Davutoğlu reacted to the program in a statement on his social media account and addressed President Erdoğan. Davutoğlu stated the following:

“ARE YOU CONSIDERING MAKING SAVINGS IN THE PUBLIC SECTOR?”

* “Now, who will give us back our lost years? The Medium-Term Program predicts that we will only reach the per capita national income we had in 2014 by 2024, and single-digit inflation only by 2026. The last time single-digit inflation occurred was in 2016. The MTP has become ‘a document of the 10 lost years.’

* In the MTP announced in 2021, you promised 8% inflation for 2023. How do you expect the nation to believe you without facing these mistakes? Mr. Erdoğan; since you say ‘the Currency-Protected Deposit scheme has fulfilled its duty,’ disclose how much public funding has been transferred to it to date so that the balance sheet of the waste you have committed from our nation's pockets can be revealed. It is evident in the MTP that the taxes you will collect from the nation will be far above inflation. Are you considering making any savings in the public sector?”
