As the deadline for renewing driver's licenses becomes a topic of discussion toward the end of the year, the Bursa Provincial Directorate of Population and Citizenship Affairs has attempted to prevent the congestion expected on the final day with a public announcement. Stating that drivers who need to replace their old-style licenses with new ones should not wait until December 31, 2024, the Bursa Provincial Directorate of Population and Citizenship Affairs shared the following:

"Driver's licenses issued before January 1, 2016, must be renewed by December 31, 2024. For driver's license applications, which can be made at all population directorates, a driver's health report, a biometric photo taken within the last 6 months, and a 15 lira renewal fee are required. After this date, old driver's licenses will become invalid, and the full driver's license fee, valuable paper fee, and foundation share fee will need to be paid. As of December 31, 2024, old driver's licenses will become invalid."

In another post, the Bursa Provincial Directorate of Population and Citizenship Affairs addressed those still using old-style national identity cards:

"Obtaining an identity card is very easy. You can pay the 130 lira identity card application fee to tax office directorates, PTT branches, contracted banks, or digitally to the tax office or through the internet branches of contracted banks. After having a biometric photo taken within the last 6 months and making an appointment, you can apply to the population directorate to receive your new identity card."
