31-year-old Iris Hsieh was found dead in the bathroom of a hotel in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. While the cause of death was initially attributed to a heart attack, the course of the investigation changed following new evidence obtained by the prosecutor's office. The police investigation has been deepened with the possibility of murder.

One of the last people to see the young model was identified as the famous Malaysian rapper Namewee (Wee Meng Chee). Namewee had been detained on the day of the incident on charges of possession and use of illegal substances. However, he was released on bail 3 days later.

Authorities, following the increase in suspicions in light of the information obtained, re-detained Namewee as a "suspect" and decided to hold him in custody for 6 days.

Although rapper Namewee disappeared after the incident, he later made a statement via his Instagram account. Namewee said, "I did not use drugs and I am deeply saddened by Iris's death. The truth will emerge when the police report is released."

The Malaysian police stated that the investigation is actively continuing, security camera footage is being examined, and statements from hotel staff are being taken. It was also noted that new evidence is being collected to shed light on the hours leading up to Iris Hsieh's death.

While the incident has caused a stir in the public eye, many people in Taiwan and Malaysia are waiting for the investigation to be clarified as soon as possible.
