Death toll in Kahramanmaraş school attack rises to 10

The number of people who lost their lives in the attack on a school in Kahramanmaraş has risen to 10.

In the armed attack that took place at Ayser Çalık Secondary School in the Haydarbey neighborhood of the Onikişubat district in Kahramanmaraş, 1 teacher and 8 students had lost their lives, and 17 students were injured. The attacker also died in the incident. The teacher and students who lost their lives in the school attack will be laid to rest today following funeral ceremonies held in the city.

The school's mathematics teacher, Ayla Kara, who shielded her students during the incident, as well as students Furkan Sancak Balal, Bayram Nabi Şişik, Belinay Poyraz, Zeynep Kılıç, Şuranur Sevgi Kazıcı, Kerem Erdem Gürgör, Adnan Göktürk Yeşil, and the attacker İsa Aras Mersinli had lost their lives. Yusuf Tarık Gül also passed away despite all interventions at the hospital. The number of those who lost their lives in the attack has risen to 10.

Meanwhile, Minister of Interior Mustafa Çiftçi, Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin, Minister of Health Kemal Memişoğlu, Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş, and Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat are expected to attend the funeral ceremonies to be held in the city.
