Debt to the Social Security Institution and the tax office: Proposal to pay with real estate

In Samsun, a 10-story building constructed by Atakum Municipality on 1,881 square meters of land as a cultural center was allocated to the Ministry of Health for 10 years in 2017. The Ministry of Health requested that "we will spend money here for conversion, therefore the allocation period should be extended to 25 years." The allocation request was accepted by the Atakum Municipal Council.

PROPOSAL TO OFFSET 8 BUILDINGS

The building in question began accepting patients as a polyclinic in the Atakum district in 2018 as the Samsun Training and Research Hospital Atakum Annex Building of the University of Health Sciences. Equipped with the latest technological devices, the Samsun Training and Research Hospital Atakum Annex Building continued to provide polyclinic services. Meanwhile, a proposal to offset 8 buildings, including the property used as the Training and Research Hospital Annex Building and the District Polyclinic affiliated with the Oral and Dental Health Hospital, against the debts of Atakum Municipality and two of its subsidiaries remaining from the previous administration, was brought to the municipal agenda.

Atakum Municipality has a total debt of 83 million 740 thousand 671 TL, consisting of 59 million 671 thousand 800 TL to the tax office and 24 million 068 thousand 871 TL to the SGK and the Pension Fund. Including the 272 million 668 thousand 957 TL debt of the two companies, the municipality's total debt to the SGK and the tax office amounts to 356 million 409 thousand 628 TL. At the municipal council meeting, the proposal to offset the eight properties against the debts owed to the SGK and tax offices was accepted.
