A new development has occurred regarding theater actor Levent Üzümcü, who was taken into custody. Levent Üzümcü, who was detained in Burhaniye, Balıkesir, and brought to Istanbul, was referred to the courthouse.
Following his statement there, Üzümcü was referred to the criminal judgeship of peace with a request for his arrest on charges of "inciting the public to hatred and hostility or insulting them."
In the morning hours, the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had announced in a brief statement that Üzümcü was detained as part of an ongoing investigation.
