Decision on electricity subsidies: New regulation for consumption exceeding 5,000 kilowatt-hours annually
The decision regarding subsidies based on consumption groups has been published in the Official Gazette. Accordingly, residential and commercial subscribers with an annual consumption of 5,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) will no longer be able to use subsidized electricity.

Starting January 1, residences consuming 5,000 kilowatt-hours annually will not be able to use subsidized electricity. The decision has been published in the Official Gazette.
Mosques, cemevis, places of worship, associations, AFAD temporary housing centers, families of martyrs, and combat/disabled veterans will be excluded from the regulation.
The last resort supply limit for the agricultural activities group has not been changed.
No consumers in the agricultural activities group will be affected by this regulation.
3 PERCENT OF SUBSCRIBERS WILL BE AFFECTED BY THE REGULATION
The number of residential subscribers is around 40 million. There are approximately 1.2 million residential subscribers with high consumption.
In this case, only 3 percent of all residential subscribers will be affected by this regulation.
For industrial consumers and consumers in the Public and Private Services Sector and Other (Public/Private/Other) subscriber group, the limit has been set at 15,000 kWh annually.
According to this limit, it is projected that approximately 20,000 new consumers in the industrial subscriber group and approximately 565,000 in the Public/Private/Other group will remain above the limit.
