A 'Rıdvan Uz' crisis is unfolding within the IYI Party. Çanakkale Deputy Rıdvan Uz had been referred to the Disciplinary Board by IYI Party leader Müsavat Dervişoğlu with a request for his expulsion from the party. The Disciplinary Board unanimously rejected the expulsion request.

İsmail Saymaz announced the development on social media. Saymaz used the following expressions in his post:

"Çanakkale Deputy Rıdvan Uz, who was referred to the disciplinary board with a request for expulsion by IYI Party leader Müsavat Dervişoğlu for saying 'Let's take down Akşener's pictures,' remains in the party. The Disciplinary Board unanimously rejected the expulsion request. The leader says 'Let's expel him.' The party does not expel him."

HE WAS NOT AMONG THE DEPUTIES

It had previously been claimed that Uz was expelled from the party because his name did not appear on the IYI Party website. With an update, Uz's name was added back among the deputies.

WHY WAS HIS EXPULSION REQUESTED?

The meeting between former IYI Party leader Meral Akşener and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had caused controversy within the party and was even criticized by some deputies and party members.

Çanakkale Deputy Rıdvan Uz had been referred to the disciplinary board by Dervişoğlu with a request for permanent expulsion while calling for the removal of photographs of Akşener, whom he had criticized due to the Erdoğan meeting.
