Famous fashion designer Barbaros Şansal was taken into custody at Istanbul Airport upon his return from the TRNC.
It was noted that Şansal was processed as part of an ongoing case at the İzmir 14th Criminal Court of First Instance.
Şansal was referred to the courthouse as part of the proceedings for a trial in which he is accused of "publicly insulting the Turkish nation, the State of the Republic of Turkey, the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, the Government of the Republic of Turkey, and the judicial bodies of the state."
Escorted by police to the Gaziosmanpaşa Courthouse, Şansal provided his statement to the prosecutor's office there.
Following his interrogation and the completion of legal procedures, the fashion designer was released.
