The allegation that Abdullah Aksoy, an MHP member of the Provincial General Assembly in the Gölhisar district of Burdur, requested a 'sela' to be recited at a venue where alcohol was being consumed has caused a widespread public outcry.

TAGGED BAHÇELİ AND YERLİKAYA

As the footage, which became a trending topic on social media, spread rapidly, Yeniden Refah Party official Burhan Yıldırım, along with many other users, harshly criticized the situation.

In his post, Yıldırım tagged Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya and MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, stating, "The friend who had the sela recited at this raki table is Burdur MHP Provincial Assembly Member Abdullah Aksoy. Forget about Esra Erol, forget about Müge Anlı, forget about Serkan Toper; look at the head of the fish, the salt has rotted and no one can touch anyone. Because everyone there knows everyone else's secrets."

INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED

Following the massive backlash on social media, it was learned that a file was opened by the Burdur Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. The individual identified as Ç.T., who was taken to the police station and is alleged to be the person reciting the sela in the video, was released after giving his statement.

EXPELLED FROM MHP

In a statement made by MHP Deputy Chairman Sadir Durmaz, it was reported that Aksoy was expelled from the party due to his attitudes and behaviors that are incompatible with religious values.

Durmaz stated, "Due to his attitudes and behaviors that are incompatible with our religious values, the ties of Burdur Gölhisar Provincial General Assembly member Abdullah Aksoy to our party have been severed, and he has been removed from our list of Provincial General Assembly members."

KIDNAPPING AND TORTURE ALLEGATIONS

On the other hand, kidnapping and torture accusations against MHP Burdur Provincial General Assembly Member Abdullah Aksoy had also surfaced last year. Following allegations that former Ülkü Ocakları official Samet Ali Irmak was kidnapped and subjected to torture, an indictment was prepared against 15 people, including MHP Burdur Provincial Chairman Mustafa Gün, MHP Provincial General Assembly Member Abdullah Aksoy, and Ülkü Ocakları Provincial Chairman Emre Ünlü.

According to the report by Cengiz Anıl Bölükbaş from T24, in the investigation launched by the prosecutor's office upon a complaint, it was requested that the suspects be tried for the crime of "depriving a person of their liberty by using force, threats, or deception in concert with more than one person," with a demand for up to 14 years in prison.
