In a written statement issued by the İnebolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was noted that on the evening of Tuesday, September 24, T.D. and M.E.D. resorted to force and threats to prevent police officers from performing their duties.
The statement included the following: "Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Cide Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the incident, following their statements taken by the public prosecutor, they were referred to the criminal judgeship of peace with a request for arrest. As a result of their interrogation, it was decided that they be arrested for the crime of 'intentional injury resulting in bone fracture due to the public duty performed by the person.' The investigation is being conducted meticulously in all its aspects."
In a statement made by the Kastamonu Police Department, it was stated that the driver of the vehicle, T.D., who was found to have a blood alcohol level of 1.68 promille, was fined 43 thousand 320 TL under the relevant articles of the Highway Traffic Law, his driver's license was suspended for 2 years and 2 months, and the vehicle was banned from traffic for 2 months.
The statement also indicated that proceedings were initiated against the driver for the crime of endangering traffic safety.
T.D. and M.E.D., who were detained on September 24 in the Cide district on allegations of resisting a police team responding to a fight report by drawing a handgun, had initially been released under judicial control. Upon the objection of the public prosecutor's office, the suspects were taken back into custody.
