A rally attended by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel was held in the Alanya district of Antalya. During the rally, while CHP District Mayoral Candidate Osman Özçelik was speaking, two banners reading "Greetings to Selahattin Demirtaş" and "Greetings to Osman Kavala" were unfurled by two individuals.
Making a statement regarding the banners, CHP Alanya District Chairman Bülent Kandemir said, "It was noticed that two provocative banners were unfurled during the speech of our Alanya Mayoral Candidate Osman Tarık Özçelik, and those who unfurled the banners were removed from the area."
CLAIMED IT WAS PLANNED IN ADVANCE
In his statement, Kandemir asserted that the banners were planned in advance, stating, "It was observed that the action, which was clearly planned in advance, was recorded by a third person and that this recording was circulated on social media by a former district chairman of a party and published on certain pro-government news websites. Legal proceedings have been initiated regarding this provocative attempt."
