DEM Party confirms: Bahçeli spoke with Demirtaş over the phone

Reports that MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli spoke over the phone with former HDP Co-Chair Selahattin Demirtaş, who is being tried while in detention, have been confirmed by the DEM Party leadership. 

DEM Party Spokesperson Ayşegül Doğan confirmed the reports that MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli had a phone conversation with former HDP Co-Chair Selahattin Demirtaş, who is being held in Edirne Prison. 

In her statement regarding the matter, Doğan said, "Dialogue between parties and dialogue between leaders are things we have defended until today. I confirm the meetings. I confirm the meetings held with both Ahmet Türk and Selahattin Demirtaş."
