AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in his statement to journalists on the plane returning from Azerbaijan, said, "There is no such thing as the CHP being the first party. Currently, the first party in Turkey is the AK Party."

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, on the other hand, challenged Erdoğan to an election, saying, "If you were the first party, you would be rushing to the ballot box with somersaults."

The DEM Party has also joined the debate between Erdoğan and Özel.

DEM Party Co-Chair Tuncer Bakırhan stated, "The first party of Turkey today is the Republican People's Party (CHP)."

"THE FIRST PARTY OF TURKEY IS THE CHP"

Speaking in Muğla, DEM Party Co-Chair Tuncer Bakırhan said, "It may have served the interests of short-term governments, but in the long run, it has caused everyone to lose. Now look at Turkey; business people are uneasy, politicians are uneasy, and the first party of Turkey today is the Republican People's Party."
