DEM Party's Tuncer Bakırhan: 'Öcalan's call will affect the Middle East and Syria'

DEM Party Co-Chair Tuncer Bakırhan attended the Newroz event held in Şanlıurfa. Making statements at the event regarding the call made by Öcalan to the PKK terrorist organization, Bakırhan said, "This call will not only affect Turkey; this call will affect the Middle East and Syria."

Stating that they would reap the fruits of this call by working together, Bakırhan said, "For the first time in 100 years, an opportunity has emerged before the Kurds and the peoples of the Middle East. Now, a great duty and responsibility falls upon us to crown this opportunity with democracy and equal rights."

Following the speeches, Bakırhan lit the Newroz fire and danced the halay with the participants.
