The first season of the series 'Gassal', starring Ahmet Kural and broadcast on TRT's platform 'tabii', has concluded. While discussions continue regarding the series, which made headlines with its PR campaign featuring posters asking, "Who will wash me when I die?", a surprise move has come from the CHP-run Altınordu Municipality.

CHP Altınordu Mayor Ulaş Tepe announced that they will open a course, stating that interest in the profession of 'gassallık' (funeral washing) has increased following the broadcast of the 'Gassal' series on a digital platform.

In his social media post, the CHP mayor stated, "In cooperation with our Public Education Center Directorate, we are opening a Funeral Services Course, known as 'gassallık'."

Ulaş's post is as follows:

"GASSALLIK (FUNERAL SERVICES) COURSE BEGINS

As Altınordu Municipality, we continue to direct our work in line with the requests and demands of our citizens.

The increased interest in this profession after the broadcast of the 'Gassal' series turned into a demand from many of our fellow citizens for the organization of a course activity. In this direction, we are organizing a Funeral Services (Gassallık) Course within our municipality's City Academy in cooperation with our Public Education Center Directorate.

You can submit your application for our course, which is limited to a 32-hour quota, via the link https://altinordu.bel.tr/kent-akademi-egitim-programlari-basvurusu.

Courses will be reopened according to demand once they are completed"
