Democrat Party's Cemal Enginyurt calls on Diyanet President Ali Erbaş regarding 'sacrificial offerings'

Ahead of the upcoming Eid al-Adha, prices for sacrificial animals are burning pockets, just as they are for food, clothing, at markets, and in grocery stores.

For retirees, who try to survive by thinking about their monthly grocery shopping and cutting back on their needs, sacrificing an animal is nothing more than a dream.

The significant rise in inflation continues to affect the living standards of many citizens, from the young to the old.

Democrat Party Deputy Chairman Cemal Enginyurt also put forward a notable proposal in Parliament ahead of the upcoming Eid al-Adha.

Highlighting the financial situation of retirees, Enginyurt stated, "Let's exempt retirees from the sacrificial offering this year."

“Since the President of Religious Affairs is currently on the Hajj pilgrimage, I am addressing him through you. Let's exempt retirees from the sacrificial offering this year. Because our retirees are suffering from a guilty conscience for not being able to fulfill their religious duty. The President of Religious Affairs should immediately issue a fatwa on this matter."
