On August 7, an IETT bus lost control on Vatan Street in Istanbul's Pendik district, crashing into a shop and damaging a 4-story apartment building.
The building, which housed 54 people, was reinforced before the IETT bus was removed with the help of a crane. Following the removal of the bus involved in the accident, teams began work on the demolition of the 4-story building. As a result of the assessments, it was decided to demolish the damaged 4-story apartment building.
Numerous riot police units, municipal police, and heavy machinery required for the demolition were brought to the scene to carry out the work.
Barriers were placed around the area by the teams to ensure the demolition crews could work safely and to prevent citizens from entering the demolition zone.
