Demonstration ban from the Istanbul Governor's Office

Following the call made for the Çağlayan Courthouse, where Ekrem İmamoğlu is set to give a statement, a ban decision has come from the Istanbul Governor's Office.

In a statement made by the Istanbul Governor's Office, it was announced that open-air meetings, protest marches, setting up tents, opening stands, sit-in protests, signature campaigns, memorial ceremonies, distributing flyers, hanging banners/posters, and similar actions are banned for 1 day in the districts of Beyoğlu, Bayrampaşa, Kağıthane, and Şişli.

The statement from the Governor's Office included the following: "Virtual patrol activities carried out by the relevant units of our Provincial Security Directorate are continuing uninterrupted. In line with the information obtained within this scope, it has been determined that various groups are preparing for illegal gatherings, marches, protests, and similar actions in certain regions."

The statement also noted the following:

"In this context, in accordance with the responsibilities arising from paragraphs (a), (b), and (c) of Article 11 of the Provincial Administration Law No. 5442 and Articles 17 and 19 of the Law on Meetings and Demonstration Marches No. 2911, open-air meetings, protest marches, setting up tents, opening stands, sit-in protests, signature campaigns, memorial ceremonies, distributing flyers, hanging banners/posters, and similar actions in the districts of Beyoğlu, Bayrampaşa, Kağıthane, and Şişli have been banned for 1 day from 00:01 to 23:59 on October 26."

ÖZGÜR ÖZEL HAD CALLED FOR SUPPORT

CHP Chairman Özel had called for support for Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is announced to be brought to the Istanbul Courthouse tomorrow as part of an "espionage" investigation. Özel had invited all Istanbul residents to show solidarity in front of the Çağlayan Courthouse at 11:00.
