A debate broke out on live television between CHP leader Özgür Özel, who was hosting journalists at the CHP headquarters, and journalist Deniz Zeyrek.

In response to Özel's remark, "Look, the easiest thing here is to not ask about the microbe causing the disease, but to ask about the effectiveness of the antibiotic," Zeyrek replied, "Then let me be the CHP Chairman."

Following this dialogue, which made him a TT (Trend Topic) on X, Deniz Zeyrek made a post for those wondering why he became a trending topic and clarified what happened between him and Özgür Özel during the live broadcast:

"Dear troll friends and those wondering 'why did Deniz Zeyrek become a TT',

The essence of the matter is this:

TRT, which exists on the taxes we pay, acts like the voice of the government instead of performing public broadcasting.

I am saying that politicians should stop complaining about TRT and, if necessary, raise hell to solve this problem.

When the Chairman, who sees this comment of mine as a 'comfort zone for attacking the opposition', asked 'why don't you do it', I simply reminded him that they are the politicians, not me (and also that I am not attacking anyone).

There is no need to twist the event or pull it in different directions.

TRT, for which we pay a large amount of tax when we buy cars, phones, computers, radios, and televisions, must immediately return to public broadcasting.

Opposition politicians should also stop complaining and take result-oriented steps to ensure this, and produce 'solutions' rather than 'excuses'."
