Speaking during parliamentary proceedings about the issue of missing children, which she has previously brought to the agenda, Denizli MP Sema Silkün Ün said, "Children are the future of our country. We have been discussing this here for several budget cycles, but no explanation has been provided.

TÜİK said; 'Between 2008 and 2016, 104,531 of our children went missing.' It is claimed that these figures were manipulated. The Disinformation Center said last year; 'Such a thing is not true.' But TÜİK already stated this, we didn't say it, friends. We expect you to tell us the truth as well.

In 2016, the disclosure of information, provision of data, and data flow regarding missing children were halted.

It is possible that all of these missing children have been found, and that would be the news that would make us the happiest.

It is possible that none of them have been found, but we need to have information. While the fate of even a single child being unknown is a major event, we are talking about a number expressed in the hundreds of thousands. We expect a satisfactory public explanation to be provided along with the figures," she said.

MP Ün, who has brought the issue to the agenda multiple times before, concluded her statement by saying; "We brought this up again during the committee discussions on the Ministry of Family budget on November 12. While the loss of even one child is a major event, will no explanation be provided regarding the fate of our missing children, a number expressed in the hundreds of thousands?"
